A Rebellion of Hope

The day after the 2016 US Presidential Election I asked myself one question: “What the hell happened?”

The answer to that question was an election was stolen by a Russian-backed candidate and a political party that has tried to destroy the world in the six years since. In November 2020, the hold on the White House was broken though on January 6, 2021 a coup was attempted and we’re still dealing with that fallout. But since November 2016, I’ve been trying to figure out where things went wrong, and what we can do to stop repeating the same mistakes and make this world a better place for all people.

This book is also about me finding my voice in talking about politics and history from my perspective, a middle-aged Generation X woman who is just sick of right-wing conservative bullshit but who isn’t going to let the Left off the hook completely either. This book is written in a voice I call punk-rock, Riot Grrrl with a lot of colorful profanity and views that aren’t going to be prettied-up. Instead, my goal is to get down-and-dirty and lay it all out in raggedy-ass glory. Cynical, sharp, yet hopeful because I want to grow old and watch the next generations live in a world full of hope.

If you’re a right-wing conservative reading this, you’re probably going to want to gaslight and hate on me. If you’re a left-wing raging lunatic like I am I’ll be preaching to our choir. If you’re a young person, I hope I can answer some of your questions and give you hope and fire to fight and win.
